The Viva Life Accidental Death Family Cover ensures that you and your family are taken care of in the event of an untimely loss of life. This cover will assure that you, and those you love, do not incur financial burdens during difficult times.
The benefits under your policy will be paid to your nominated beneficiary if you pass away, and to you if one of your dependent family members pass away.
You can add a beneficiary to your policy by calling our customer services team on 086 100 VIVA (8482) or via email to support@vivalife.co.za.
Claims must be reported to Viva Life by emailing claims@vivalife.co.za or calling 086 100 VIVA(8482).
In the event that Viva Life rejects a claim or disputes the amount of the claim, you or your beneficiary may make representations to Viva Life within 90 days of receiving of the notification of repudiation or dispute of the claim, and will have at least 6 months after the expiry of the 90-day period to institute legal action in a court of law, lodge a complaint with the Long-term/Insurance Ombudsman or commence arbitration proceedings.
Premiums are payable in advance on the selected debit order date. Your premiums are subject to change, depending on the claims, expense and investment experience of Viva Life Insurance Limited. Premiums will increase annually by 6% on policy anniversary. We will communicate any changes in premiums to you with a 31-day notice.
If you have any issues or questions about your cover, feel free to call us on 086 100 VIVA (8482), or email us on support@vivalife.co.za to get more information on the policy.

Many individuals prefer to postpone the purchase of any insurance until such a time that they have dependents. It is important to ask yourself if anyone will suffer financially if you were to die. It would be unwise to delay purchasing such insurance.
Cover begins once your application has been approved by the insurance company and your first premium due, has been paid.
Should you miss a payment for any reason, we will collect a double debit order the following month for up to a maximum of 3 months. If your policy lapse and you would like to reinstate and resume payments, waiting periods would reapply.
The proceeds from an insurance policy are not taxable because of their nature. The proceeds are of a capital nature and are therefore not taxable as income. There are no waiting periods if your death is as a result of an accident.
Your beneficiary can receive payment within 48 hours of the claim. Promptness of payment is dependent on the correct documentation being supplied to us.
